The Irish team Wylde made their debut in tier one Rainbow Six: Siege esports at the BLAST Europe MENA League 2025 – Stage 1.
Co-owned by renowned athlete Usain Bolt, the team took on Fnatic in their first match of the tournament.
Looking to rebuild after their first loss, Wylde are set to face Team BDS later today at 8pm BST.
Who are WYLDE?
Wylde are an Irish esports organisation based in Cork, Ireland, that returns to tier one Rainbow Six: Siege (R6) esports after rebuilding to focus on an academy roster.
The team hasn’t competed in tier one R6 esports since the merger of the European and MENA regions.
They qualified through the Challenger Series with their rookie roster, with Irish and UK talent of Evan ‘Evan’ McDonnell and Kieren ‘Bmzy’ Harley-pesce.
This latest iteration of the team has climbed through the ranks, from team trials a year ago to tier one R6 esports.
The organisation also has a team in Valorant and Rocket League, having recently competed at the Valorant Glitched Invitational.
Wylde has seen much success in Rocket League as well, competing in multiple EU Rocket League LAN’s in the past.
WYLDE re-debuts in tier one Rainbow Six: Siege
Now back in the higher echelons of R6 esports, the team faced off against London-based Fnatic in their first match.
Wylde began the match well after securing the defuser plant and blocking Fnatic from advancing.
Fnatic were able to snap back to take the following four rounds before Wylde could answer.
Thanks to a quick drop onto the bomb site by Wylde, they were able to win the 2v2 and take back control of the game.
Ultimately, Fnatic proved to be too much as they took the match 7-4.
The team will have to quickly pick themselves up as they’ll next face Team BDS later today at 9pm BST.
