The 2025 League of Legends (LoL) Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) kicks off next week at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, Canada.
Set to take place from June 27th to June 29th, MSI will bring together the top ten teams from around the world to compete for the top prize and the title.
Here is everything you’ll need to know about MSI 2025.
MSI 2025: Ignite the Fire Within
The 2025 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational is here, bringing together the five regions to battle for glory, pride, and a critical edge heading into the World Championship.
As the second international event on the LoL Esports calendar, MSI pits two representatives from each regional league against one another.
Notably, LTA North and LTA South count as one region, thus effectively reducing each region’s representatives by one.
With more than just a trophy on the line, the winning team and the next best-performing region will earn extra slots at the upcoming World Championship.
This year, the action unfolds beginning on Friday, June 27th at the iconic Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, Canada.

Format
Play-In Stage
G2 Esports, Bilibili Gaming, GAM Esports, and Furia will battle it out in the Play-In Stage for the chance to qualify for the main Bracket Stage of the tournament.
They’ll compete in a double-elimination bracket full of best-of-five matches, with the added bonus of fearless draft.
Only the top two teams can qualify for the Bracket Stage, putting each team under extra pressure from the start.
Bracket Stage draw explainer
Once the Play-In Stage is complete, attention then turns to the Bracket Stage.
The Bracket Stage teams will be matched based on draw tiers, and teams from the same region must be placed on opposite sides of the bracket.
The draw tiers, based on each region’s First Stand results, are:
- Tier 1: Gen.G Esports (LCK1), Movistar KOI (LEC1)
- Tier 2: GAM Esports (LCP1), Anyone’s Legend (LPL1)
- Tier 3: FlyQuest (LTA1), T1 (LCK2)
- Tier 4: Play-Ins Teams (2 teams)
These constraints lock in several matchups automatically, reducing the number of potential draw outcomes.
Out of the six possible combinations of teams advancing from Play-Ins, four of those require no draw, and the remaining two only need a single placement decision to finalise the bracket.
The draws will be decided as the Play-In Stage comes to an end.
