British cosplay personality known for multiple appearances at Dota 2 events, Grace ‘Peachybell’ Bell, has passed away from leukaemia.
The 24-year-old’s battle with leukaemia sadly ended on May 23rd of this year.
According to close friend, Josh ‘bryndota’ Norris, she passed peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones.
The Dota 2 community will recognise Peachybell for her cosplays based on their beloved characters.
She would regularly attend and compete in cosplay competitions at most Dota 2 LANs alongside several UK conventions and comic cons.
Originally from the small town of Llandeilo, Wales, Peachybell competed with Esports Wales at the inaugural Commonwealth Esports Championships.
Saying to the BBC at the time:
I think it’s definitely a good thing. People judge you when you say ‘I want to play this professionally’, but if you have things like the Commonwealth behind you, then it becomes a more viable thing that people want to get into professionally.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Peachybell was a clothes designer by day, making costumes, fabrics, and creative designs a passion of her life.
However, those who knew her would describe her as a dear friend and a beacon of light.
Unfortunately, Peachybell had been undergoing treatment for leukaemia since November 2024.
In December of the same year, she decided to share her story with the public to raise awareness for the condition in hopes of raising money for the charities and organisations supporting them.
Despite undergoing an unrelenting series of cancer treatments, she continued to create cosplays in her spare time.
Powering on, bryndota shared that she still had many aspirations in life, including travelling to Japan and going into nursing after she finished her treatment.
Unfortunately for Peachybell and her family and friends, she passed away, having lost her battle with cancer.
In her name and honour, bryndota has called for Dota 2 players from all walks of life to support the fundraiser for Cancer Research UK.
From esports professionals to casual fans of a different esports title, bryndota encourages all to help support the fundraiser to prevent more suffering of others.
Esports players, content creators, streamers, and those who want to support can join the fundraiser set up in Peachybell’s name.
A special donation page has also been set up with the goal of reaching £1,000, with the hopes of surpassing it.

Peachy was very special to many of us in the community, and she will be sorely missed. Please take some time to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, to tell your friends that you love them.
