The All England Lawn Tennis Club has announced the return of its esports tournament, the Wimbledon eChamps, with the support of American Express.
The club is known for hosting The Champions, Wimbledon, which is one of the four major Grand Slams in tennis.
The Wimbledon eChamps will run from June 9th until July 19th 2025, and feature the mobile game Tennis Clash and PS5 game TopSpin 2K25.
Building on last year’s inaugural event, the Wimbledon eChamps will see players compete across two disciplines of mobile and console in hopes of providing more opportunities for various types of players.
A Wimbledon eChampion will be crowned on each respective platform, making for two champions to be crowned.
Budding players aged over 18 from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Canada and the US are eligible to enter Wimbledon eChamps.
The Wimbledon eChamps presented by American Express will be held in two stages:
Stage 1 – Qualifying: Tennis Clash players and TopSpin 2K25 players can enter within their respective games and work their way up the rankings.
Stage 2 – Finals: The top players from the global qualifiers will be invited to attend the live, in-person finals held at the All England Club, Wimbledon on July 18th – 19th.
Competitors will compete in the in-person finals to be crowned Wimbledon eChampion for their respective platforms until only one remains as the ultimate champion.
The tournament will also be running alongside part of the famed The Champions, Wimbledon.
Making for an interesting event which mixes sport and esports.
The winners will receive an ultimate weekend in London, including tickets to The Championships, Wimbledon and British Summer Time music festival.
“We were delighted that last year’s Wimbledon eChamps received such an incredible reception from fans around the world.
Usama Al-Qassab, Marketing & Commercial Director at the All England Club
Thanks to the ongoing support of our Official Partner American Express, we are proud to bring the Wimbledon eChamps back for a second year.
