As teased by EXO Clan founder Kris ‘Exodus’ Partell, a new UK esports organisation has been formed from former EXO Clan and Element 6 founders called Element X.
This comes without the involvement of the former EXO Clan members Jack ‘iJackmc’ McPoland and Grant ‘GranticusCya’ Aldridge, who abruptly ceased operations last month.
Exodus, Element 6 founders Mete ‘Sineska’ Karaoglan and Marvin ‘MRVN’ Liklikwatil, will be heading the organisation, alongside One Shot Events host Ellen Bradford.
Who are Element X?
The new British-based esports organisation is formed of the founding members of the former EXO Clan and Irish-based Element 6.
In addition to this, host of One Shot Events and a previous collaborator with EXO Clan’s community events will be joining them.
The new organisation takes inspiration from their former organisations, mixing the two together to create Element X.
The organisation will be looking to rebuild after the events that led to the closure of EXO Clan.
The context of EXO Clan and Element 6 forming Element X
Previously, the organisations of EXO Clan and Element 6 were separate entities, mainly in Apex Legends esports alongside other esports titles.
Last year, the two organisations merged, with EXO Clan absorbing parts of Element 6’s roster and staff.
Despite the advancements in their competitive success and expansion, the organisation announced its surprise closure last month.
This took many by surprise, as former owner Jack ‘iJackmc’ McPoland gave little warning of his intention to cease operations.
With broken promises and a missing owner, many were disappointed at this abrupt end to the legacy esports organisation.
In a reply to the initial announcement, they confirmed that iJackmc would not be involved with Element X.
What will Element X do?
Whilst nothing has been confirmed from their announcement, it’s safe to say that Element X will be returning to Apex Legends esports.
It’s also likely that they would consider rejoining the Valorant esports ecosystem, having previously owned a team under the EXO Clan banner.
Element X now faces the challenge of building from the ashes of EXO Clan.
With an experienced team behind them as well as an existing audience from parts of EXO Clan and Element 6, the new UK organisation has a good chance in esports.
