Chinese AD carry and now Hall of Legends honouree Jian ‘Uzi’ Zi-Hao has been officially inducted into the Hall of Legends after today’s ceremony.
The Hall of Legends Induction Ceremony welcomed esports veterans and fans to honour the latest member to stand alongside Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok.
A documentary detailing his career will be published with the Hall of Legends event on Wednesday, June 11th.
Uzi at the Hall of Legends Induction Ceremony
At the official ceremony in Shanghai, China, Uzi was showered with gifts, which included a Mercedes-Benz.
The event showcased Uzi and his career as one of the most legendary AD carries to compete in League of Legends esports.
Among the attendees was Riot Games’ Global Head of League of Legends Esports, Chris Greely.
During the ceremony, Uzi also signed his Hall of Legends jersey and handprint, which will be displayed at the League Arena in Shanghai.
Behind the scenes, Uzi was also greeted by legendary NBA player Carmelo Anthony. The two exchanged kind words alongside signed jerseys.
In an apparent leaked video from the ceremony, fellow Hall of Legends member Faker had this to say.
“I have tremendous respect for him.

I do think he’s a legend.”
Debate on Uzi’s inclusion in the Hall of Legends
While Uzi is serenaded as a legend of the game, some fans online have come to criticise his selection alongside the concept of the Hall of Legends.
A notable voice was Los Ratones’ mid laner Tim ‘Nemesis’ Lipovšek.
In these short clips, he suggests that none can compare to Faker’s status as a legend of the game. Therefore, making Uzi and any other choice pale in comparison.
He calls into question the need for the Hall of Legends, claiming it to be a ‘skin grab’.
Adding to this, he questions the validity of the concept as Riot Games has not disclosed the panel that chooses each inductee.
His sentiments have been echoed online since Uzi’s announcement, with many drawing attention to Uzi’s lack of titles.
Congratulations to UZI!

But LpL players have people can be the same as him like: Meiko 1MSI 1Worlds; Bin 1MSI 2MSI Finals 2Worlds Finals; Knight 1MSI 1World final; XiaoHu/Ming 3Msi; Gala 2MSI; Worlds winner: Scout/Rookie/Doinb/Jackeylove/Clearlove/Theshy/Tian/JieJie/Flandre/Crisp
If win Worlds is not as important than being popular it seems a right decision. Now true dedicated and consistant ad carrys will not be recognized for their effort thanks RIOT. Now I have to wait 5 years until I see in Hall of legends a true representative for the roll.

Others also came to his defence, stating how impactful Uzi was to the role of AD carry.
Among those praising Uzi was none other than NA AD carry legend, Yiliang ‘Doublelift’ Peng.
One aspect which the community agrees on is that the Hall of Legends is priced too high, which was debated endlessly last year when Faker’s skin was released.
