UK esports community reflects on 5 years of Valorant 

Riot Games is celebrating Valorant’s 5th anniversary this year as one of the biggest esports titles in the world.

The hero tactical shooter was first teased during Riot Games’ 10th anniversary video, with the game being launched the following year.

The official Valorant Twitter posted a viral tweet, where UK esports personalities were keen to share their stories.

British esports host Yinsu Collins kept with the original theme by sharing photos of herself with her partner and Fnatic player, Jake ‘Boaster’ Howlett.

Other British on-air talent also joined in to share how different their lives are now.

Irish caster Mitch ‘MitchMan’ McBride also took the opportunity to reflect on his career, with others following suit.

UK content creators such as Fnatic’s Kayleigh Wordley shared how their time within the Valorant community had changed them.

Meanwhile, some took to their own style to share their experiences with Valorant.

Valorant celebrates its 5th anniversary

To celebrate five years of Valorant, Riot Games has released a stream of content, including a free event pass, Beta Remastered Collection, and the return of the Night Market.

They’ll also host special Valorant Riot Play Club parties across the UK in London, Durham, Manchester, Warwick, and Cork.

Riot Games also announced several in-game changes and recently showcased the highly anticipated replay system for the first time.

Valorant will also see a switch to Unreal Engine 5 alongside changes to the esports ecosystem in further efforts to close the gap between Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams.

Meanwhile, former Fnatic coach Jacob ‘mini’ Harris and Team Liquid content creator Connor ‘Sliggy’ Blomfield hosted a ‘Semidecade Slugfest’ showmatch where Team mini beat Team Sliggy 4-1.
