Riot Games has announced that the legendary Chinese AD Carry, Jian ‘Uzi’ Zi-Hao, will be inducted into the League of Legends Hall of Legends.
Speculation for the next Hall of Legends inductee would be after Riot Games confirmed that an announcement would be made in May.
Ultimately, it was none other than Uzi who was selected as the first-ever League of Legends Pro League (LPL) player to be inducted.
He’ll be the second to receive the honour and will be joining Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok to become immortalised in League of Legends esports history.
A celebration of Uzi’s career
Uzi will be honoured in the LoL client through the event pass, which will guide players throughout his career.
Similar to last year’s Hall of Legends event pass, it will feature in-game items and rewards and was curated in collaboration with Uzi himself.
The Hall of Legends event will also feature the return of the Signature and Immortalised skins to celebrate Uzi’s most synonymous champions.
Riot Games has said that more details about this year’s Hall of Legends event will be announced at a later date.
Signature Vayne to be immortalised
While the champions for these skins are yet to be confirmed, it’ll be no surprise if his legendary Vayne is chosen as the Signature skin.
As for the Immortalised skin, we can take a few guesses. Ezreal is his most-played champion across his career, so the pick could easily be considered.
Lucian could also be considered, since the champion was a popular pick for Uzi during his early career.
Kog’Maw should be another candidate, as it was the central piece in the legendary ‘Raise the puppy’ team composition.
Made famous by Star Horn Royal Club (now RNG), where his team would pour all resources into him so he could single-handedly win the game.
However, Kai’Sa is highly likely due to Uzi’s history of flashy plays with the pick, along with the champion’s popularity with the players.
Honouring a legend
The legendary player will be honoured at the official Hall of Legends Induction Ceremony on June 6th in Shanghai, China.
With the Hall of Legends event kicking off afterwards on June 11th, alongside a documentary film which will detail his career.
As part of the Hall of Legends partnership with Mercedes-Benz, Uzi will also receive a specially commissioned art piece depicting his career and achievements, accompanied by a customised Uzi-themed car.
Uzi’s legacy goes beyond his titles and achievements; he changed the way we view the bot lane role and left a permanent mark on League of Legends Esports.
Chris Greeley, Global Head of LoL Esports
His passion and determination have inspired millions, and once we saw the voting breakdown from the global votes, it was clear that Uzi had left his mark on LoL Esports.
We are honoured to induct him in the Hall of Legends.
