Introducing the new-look Esports News UK website with premium ad-free options

Esports News UK has received a fresh makeover as it approaches its fourth year of operation, courtesy of RelyWP.
The website has been in need of a new lick of paint for some time now and we’re delighted to announce its redesign.
We wanted to spruce it up (both in terms of its back-end technical capabilities and its front-end appearance) while keeping a similar look and feel that you – our valued readers – have become accustomed to over the past few years.
Esports News UK retains its simplicity but now has a more streamlined, lighter style for better readability.
Thanks to RelyWP for all their hard work over the past few months getting everything looking right.

Hide the ads

At Esports News UK we know that many of you aren’t fans of website adverts, banners, MPUs and annoying pop-ups. That’s why we choose not to have the latter on our website as a rule.
It’s also why we’re now giving you the option to remove ads from Esports News UK entirely.
We have a range of premium reader membership levels available, including:

  • Bronze (£1 a month): Remove ads
  • Silver (£3 a month): Remove ads, name added to supporter section of the site and get a personalised social graphic/shoutout from us on Twitter
  • Gold (£5 a month): Remove ads, name added to supporter section of the site, get a shoutout from us on Twitter and access to our special supporter-only Discord channel
  • Platinum (£10 a month): Remove ads, name added to supporter section of the site, get a shoutout from us on Twitter, name included under all our YouTube videos, access to our special supporter-only Discord channel and receive a limited edition Esports News UK pin badge

Have a look at our premium reader page for more info and to sign up.

Alternatively, you can still support Esports News UK on Patreon too and access ad-free options through that.

When you sign up to the premium reader option, we store some of your personal info internally and this is not shared anywhere. We’ve also updated our privacy policy to reflect this.

Watch Esports News UK’s editor talk about the new site:

Promoted articles

Another strategy of ours influenced by online readers’ aversion towards ads has been to focus on offering clients promoted articles.
We have always followed – and will continue to adhere to – ASA guidelines around this, and our new website makes promoted articles even more easily distinguishable from our usual editorial content. For example, on our homepage this kind of content now has a ‘promoted’ banner beside it, whereas before these articles were only marked up at the top and bottom of the article itself.
By focusing on these strategies, and giving you the option to remove ads, not only does it better meet your needs, it also allows us to generate more sustainable revenues and future-proof ourselves in a digital world that continues to move away from traditional advertising models.

Thank you

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported Esports News UK over the years – you are why I run the site and will continue to do so.
I hope you like the new redesign – I’d be happy to hear your feedback. Feel free to DM me on Twitter with your views.
I look forward to the next four years and beyond running Esports News UK.
Dom Sacco, editor
